Can you explain the concept of legality?
Legality is the state of being in accordance with the law.
And what is the purpose of the law?
The purpose of the law is to promote justice and protect the rights of individuals.
So, if something is legal, it must be just and is in protection of the rights of individuals?
Yes.
And if something is illegal, it must be unjust and violative of the rights of individuals, right?
Yes.
So, if a law is passed stating that it is illegal to breathe, then breathing would be illegal?
Yes, apparently.
Law Professor: Therefore, if a law is passed making breathing illegal, we would all be obligated to stop breathing in order to uphold the law, right?
Law Student: I am confused. ๐ค๐คจ๐
