 BAR LAW FOR DUMMIES 

Hi. Hindi ko gets bakit ang daming haters, saying na get a reputable review center instead.

It is true yung presyo ng BLD and other review centers ay halos magkaparehas. Ano ba ang difference? BLD, one person; review centers, diff professors for different bar subjects. Even experts from their fields. 

Availing from the two, here are my insights:

1. BLD - Teacher Edgar, passed the bar, but did not sign the roll (?) and faced IP issues. 

1. 1 Topical bar questions 

- Comparing his Bar Q and A to other Bar Q and A of other publishing house, hindi topical ang sa Central, by year sya. 

- It is not his own suggested answers, not also suggested from other profs, UPLC lang but ang difference, naka suggest by topic. 

- If you will check his materials, hindi naman sya merely copy-paste type, he will walk you through in explaining answers. For most, okay for me ang set nya for Oblicon, na explain layman’s terms.

- Cons: masyado maliit ang font, hindi ganon ka engaging formatting. At minsan may typo at “hahaha” pa. Hindi naka coil bind, gagastos pa ako.

I guess ganito ang style kasi ang goal is mapadali yung law review in a sense na chill lang ang approach. Sabi nya nga, “madali lang ang labor law” it is as if “chill lang kaya tong subject na to.” 

With these I think ang takeaway, one-man person itong program, compilation of bar qs by topics ang materials, may kamahalan. 

Mabenta ang BLD sa mga bar flunkers or oldies because pinapadali nito yung approach, basa ng bar qs hanggang makasanayan, magsagot ng practical exercises, kumbaga start from the scratch at pag may tanong ka, ichat mo si Teacher.

Ngayon punta naman tayo sa,

2. Reputable review centers

- Every year, may mga RC na nakakahit ng lumalabas sa bar. Tulad nga ng sabi ng iba, mahal dito kasi based on expertise at statistics ang approach.

- May predicted topics na pwede lumabas, based na rin sa expertise ng prof kung ano yung laging lumalabas at trend sa Bar based sa jurisprudence.

- Provided ang readings in pdfs, lmts, and other materials .

- Meron din detailed calendar na ano subj per day, may playback option.

- Meron pang codal rehash sa iba, meron din by mentor during mock bar. 

- Ang advantage nito, meron kang teacher for each bar subject kung saan sila regarded na magaling. Book authors pa nga, first hand info, kumbaga. 

- May mga mentors na magfifeedback pano ka sumagot during mock bar. 

Lahat naman ito, depende sa bar reviewee. Ano ba ang kailangan mo? Mastery ng past bar q and a, with your own pacing ng pagbabasa?

Or mas gusto mo yung umaattend ng video lectures with supplemented materials? Na minsan may coaches and rehash kung kaya ng budget mo.

I think depende yan sa kung ano learning style ang alam mong nagwowork for you, may mga taong mas gusto magbasa kesa makinig. May iba naman na auditory learners. Meron iba na gusto ng mastery ng past bar q and a kasi most likely may tanong from the past bar qs. Meron naman gusto focus sa codal at chair’s cases. 

Kanya kanya yan. Use your discernment and learning style ano papalag sayo.

Just be vigilant na tama ang info na nababasa nyo sa mga reviewers nyo.
